WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE QUITTING

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE QUITTING

When you feel like quitting, remembering why you started is a good thing to keep in mind… But it’s not really anything more than a quick-fix.

There’s more that we can do to quickly and easily give us a longer lasting burst of inspiration and motivation when things are tough.

We can look at what quitting means and how it will impact our future, we can look at why we even want to quit in the first place and the patterns that we’re running out of habit, and most of all we can start making choices in the “now” AS the future version of ourselves.

Once we can do that, then we’ll be ready to start creating the results that future “us” is capable of creating.

Things don’t have to be hard, or painful, or frustrating. Things are just things. What happens is just what happens. What makes things hard is how we CHOOSE to perceive them.

We need to remember that when we wanna quit… We’re choosing to make things hard and we’re choosing to quit. And if we do quit, it’s because truthfully, it’s just not important enough to us.

If you were given £10 million, would you do the thing that you’re about to quit on? What’s the difference? The difference is that if enough was at stake, we’d just do it. So the truth then is that it’s not important enough to us. 

If you wanna quit that’s fine, but make it a rule that when you quit you list out at least 5 reasons why it’s just not important to you. If it genuinely isn’t important, then you shouldn’t be wasting your time on it in the first place.

And if it truly is important, then this exercise should really make you think twice about giving up and throwing in the towel, because coming face to face with the gravity of what’s at stake will highlight the actual long term impact based on the short term decision of quitting.
