HOW TO RAISE YOUR STANDARDS

Setting our vision of the future is critical to success, but until we raise our standards; we won’t achieve that vision.

Somewhere below every “here’s what I want to achieve in my life”, there is always an “and here’s what I’m willing to tolerate in my life”.

We don’t get what we want, we get what we’re willing to tolerate.

We will earn not a penny less than exactly what we’re willing to tolerate earning. Our relationships and friendships unfold in exactly the way we’re willing to tolerate them unfolding. Our health and fitness will sit at the level that we’re willing to tolerate it sitting at.

The reason being is that when we’re no longer willing to tolerate something, we WILL find a way to move past it. Whatever it takes.

But as long as we’re willing to tolerate something, when the going gets tough we will always allow things to slip back to just above what we’re willing to tolerate. If we’re experiencing “mediocre” in our lives, it’s because we’re willing to tolerate it.

The key to achieving what we WANT in life, is to decide that we’re no longer willing to TOLERATE anything less than that. We need to put time into figuring out how to raise our standards. And we need to practice self discipline.

As Tony Robbins says, we must turn our “shoulds” into “musts”.
